This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Gas Engineer to join a growing plumbing and heating company with a strong reputation across Berkshire and the surrounding areas.
With a steady pipeline of work, a loyal customer base and exciting growth plans, our client is looking for a skilled engineer who takes pride in delivering high-quality workmanship and exceptional customer service.
All work is domestic, covering boiler installations, servicing, breakdowns, heating upgrades and associated plumbing works. The business is open to engineers joining on either a PAYE or subcontract basis, with the opportunity to move into a permanent PAYE role in the future if desired.
The majority of work is carried out within a 10 to 15-mile radius, providing a consistent local workload, minimal travel and an excellent work-life balance.
Key Responsibilities
- Domestic boiler installations and replacements
- Boiler servicing, maintenance and repairs
- Fault-finding and diagnostics on heating systems
- Central heating installations and upgrades
- Radiator installations and replacements
- General domestic gas and heating work
- Plumbing work associated with heating installations
- Completing jobs from start to finish without supervision, ensuring all work is completed to a high standard
- Taking full ownership of installations, servicing and repair works from initial diagnosis through to completion
- Ensuring all work complies with Gas Safe regulations
- Completing job sheets and required documentation accurately
- Delivering excellent customer service within occupied homes
Essential Requirements
- Proven experience as a Domestic Gas Engineer
- Current domestic gas qualifications
- Valid Gas Safe Registration
- Strong boiler installation and servicing experience
- Excellent knowledge of domestic heating systems
- Confident fault-finding and diagnostic skills
- Proven ability to complete domestic gas and heating projects from start to finish without supervision
- Strong communication and customer service abilities
- Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively
- Full UK driving licence
- Professional, reliable and safety-focused approach
Desirable Qualifications
- G3 Unvented Hot Water qualification
- F-Gas qualification
- Bathroom installation experience
- Additional plumbing and heating qualifications
- Broader domestic plumbing experience
PAYE Package
- £45,000 - £55,000 per annum DOE
- Company van provided following successful probation
- Monday to Friday working pattern
- Consistent workload and long-term job security

Subcontract Package
- £300 - £350 per day DOE
- Consistent ongoing work
- Monday to Friday schedule
