Support Worker
Location: Bedford
Job Type: Part-time, (2 hours per week)
Pay & Hours
- Pay Rate: £13.28 per hour
- Hours: 2 hours per week, with the possibility of increased hours in the future
- Schedule: Weekend evenings, with shifts starting from 4pm onwards
- Flexibility: Shifts can be scheduled on either Saturday or Sunday, with the possibility to work weekdays during half-term periods
About the Role
We are supporting the recruitment of a Support Worker to provide 1:1 support for a gentleman with Autism, ADHD, and well controlled Epilepsy.
We are seeking a calm, patient, and reliable individual who can build a positive and trusting relationship. The focus of the role is to provide consistent, person-centred care that promotes independence, confidence, and social engagement.
The individual enjoys football, music, playing musical instruments, and baking. Support will include encouraging participation in these activities, support both at home and in the community, within a safe and structured environment.

Key Responsibilities
- Provide 1:1 supervision at all times
- Support within the home and in the community
- Ensure safety and awareness when out in the community (including road safety)
- Encourage engagement in hobbies and preferred activities
- Support development of:
- Social interaction skills
- Confidence and independence
- Everyday life skills
- Provide light prompting with personal care routines, including:
- Toileting routines (e.g. flushing, handwashing)
- Offer reassurance and maintain a calm, structured approach
What We’re Looking For
Essential:
- Experience supporting individuals with Autism
- Calm, patient, and consistent approach
- Ability to build trust and positive relationships
- Confidence working independently in a 1:1 setting
Desirable:
- Experience supporting individuals with ADHD and/or Epilepsy
- Background in care, support work, education, or similar roles
