Little Blossoms is a rural private day nursery set in the heart of Clive’s Fruit Farm orchards. We care for children aged from 3 months until school age with a great emphasis set on outdoor learning.
We are looking for both a qualified and potentially unqualified practitioner who has previous experience working with Under 2's, in particular babies.
This position is in our baby room, working with babies from 3 months to 16 months and will be for 30/40 hours, hours 8am till 6pm, 3 set days per week.
Key responsibilities
- To provide a happy, safe, stimulating and caring environment in which children can learn and develop.
- Work as a team with other staff members.
- To promote and ensure confidentiality is maintained throughout the nursery at all times.
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures.
- To use your understanding of Child development to assist in the planning and delivery of the experiences offered to children.
- Provide high standards of quality within the nursery including the environment, resources and experiences offered to children
- Comply with the statutory framework for the Early Years, including the EYFS Welfare requirements, Development matters and all other relevant legislation including the Children Act 1989 and 2004.
- Work in partnership with parents, carers and other family members.
- Demonstrate good practice with regard to Special Needs and Inclusion.
- Ensure that children are kept safe and that staff understand Safeguarding procedures, following them where necessary.
Essential for the post;
- A Childcare and Education qualification equivalent to NVQ level 2 or above.
- Registration with DBS.
- Sound knowledge of the EYFS Welfare requirements, Development matters and child development.
- Knowledge of Safeguarding procedures.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and on your own initiative.
- Good communication skills both written and verbal.
- Ability to develop effective relationships and communicate with staff, parents and other professionals.

- A willingness to undertake further relevant training including some evenings and weekends.
Desirable for the post;
- Current Paediatric first aid qualification.
- Level 2/ Level 3 Childcare qualification
- Desire to undertake qualification in child care if do not already have.
