Personal Assistant (PA)
11-year-old boy
Berwick upon Tweed
Diagnoses: Autism Spectrum Disorder, sensory processing disorder, significant learning disabilities
Largely non-verbal – will learn his communication style over time
Hours- 5 hours per week (term time)
- 10 hours per week (school holidays)
Term Time
- One weekday evening 4pm–6pm
- Saturday 10am–1pm
School Holidays
- Tuesday 10am–1:30pm
- Friday 10am–1:30pm
- Saturday 10am–1pm
- Some flexibility available
About Him
- Happy, active boy
- Loves being outdoors
- Enjoys parks, shops and McDonald’s trips
- Can become anxious, trust-building is essential
Support Required
- Social and leisure activities
- Support to access the community
- Personal care including continence care
- Assistance with independence skills
What We’re Looking For
- Patient, calm and understanding approach
- Able to build trust at child’s pace
- Proactive – suggest activities and outings
- Experience with ASD or complex needs preferred
- Confident working independently
Requirements
- Driver preferred with own car
- No gender preference
- Comfortable supporting with personal care
