Job Overview
We are looking for a reliable, experienced Multiskilled tradesman /handyperson to join our growing maintenance team.
Please note: We will only consider applicants who have a recognised trade background within the building industry. This could include, but is not limited to:
- Joiner
- Plumber
- Electrician
- Painter & Decorator
- Other recognised building trades
Applicants must have a minimum of 3 years' experience in their primary trade. Applications from candidates without a recognised trade background will not be considered.
The successful candidate will carry out a wide variety of maintenance and repair works within residential properties. This role is ideal for someone who takes pride in delivering high-quality workmanship, enjoys problem solving and is confident turning their hand to a range of maintenance tasks.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out work within your primary trade to a high standard.
- Complete a wide range of general maintenance and repair works in residential properties.
- Undertake minor maintenance work across a range of trades, including:
- Basic plumbing
- Basic electrical work
- Joinery
- Painting and decorating
- Wall and floor tiling
- Small plaster repairs and making good
- Diagnose maintenance issues and determine the most effective repair solution.
- Repair fixtures, fittings and furniture where required.
- Ensure all work is completed safely, efficiently and to a high standard.
- Maintain a clean, tidy and organised working environment.
- Communicate professionally with tenants, landlords and colleagues.
- Accurately record completed works and materials used.
- Represent the company professionally at all times.
Essential Requirements
- Recognised trade qualification or time-served apprenticeship in a building trade.
- Minimum 3 years' experience in your primary trade.
- Good all-round maintenance and fault-finding skills.
- Ability to carry out basic tasks across a variety of other building trades.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and manage your own workload.
- Good communication and customer service skills.
- Full UK driving licence (essential).
Desirable
- Experience working within residential property maintenance or social housing.
- Experience working in occupied properties.
- Ability to carry out work across multiple trade disciplines.
