Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Kitchen Porter/Kitchen Assistant to support our culinary team in maintaining a clean, organised, and efficient kitchen environment. This role is essential in ensuring smooth kitchen operations and assisting with food preparation and service. The successful candidate will have a keen eye for cleanliness, be proactive, and possess a passion for hospitality.
Duties
- Assist with basic food preparation tasks under supervision, including washing vegetables and preparing ingredients.
- Support chefs with cooking activities as required, ensuring hygiene standards are maintained.
- Clean and sanitise kitchen equipment, utensils, and work surfaces to uphold health and safety regulations.
- Collect and dispose of waste appropriately, ensuring the kitchen remains tidy throughout service periods.
- Restock supplies and organise storage areas to facilitate efficient workflow.
- Support serving staff during busy periods, including clearing tables and delivering food when necessary.
- Follow all health and safety guidelines to ensure a safe working environment for all staff members.
Requirements
- Previous experience in a restaurant, hotel, or hospitality setting is advantageous but not essential.
- Knowledge of food preparation, cooking, and kitchen hygiene standards is desirable.
- Experience in hospitality or culinary roles will be considered a plus.
- Ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Good organisational skills with attention to cleanliness and detail.
- Flexibility to work shifts as required, including evenings and weekends if necessary.

Pay: £12.71-£13.50 per hour
