Job Purpose
To provide friendly, efficient and professional customer service while preparing and serving drinks, maintaining high standards of cleanliness and ensuring the smooth operation of the bar. Bar staff play a vital role in creating a welcoming atmosphere for members, guests and visitors.
Key ResponsibilitiesCustomer Service
- Welcome customers in a friendly and professional manner.
- Take drink and food orders accurately.
- Serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks to Whitehead standards.
- Provide excellent customer service at all times.
- Handle customer queries or complaints politely, referring issues to a supervisor where necessary.
Bar Operations
- Prepare and serve draught beers, wines, spirits, cocktails and hot drinks.
- Operate the till and card payment system accurately.
- Check customer identification in line with Challenge 25.
- Refuse service where appropriate in accordance with licensing laws.
Stock Management
- Replenish fridges and bottle displays.
- Restock bar supplies throughout the shift.
- Rotate stock using date rotation procedures.
- Report low stock levels or damaged products.
Cleaning & Hygiene
- Keep all bar areas clean and tidy throughout the shift.
- Wash and polish glasses.
- Clean equipment, beer taps, work surfaces and tables.
- Dispose of waste correctly.
- Complete all cleaning schedules and checklists.
Opening & Closing Duties
- Prepare the bar before opening.
- Set up tills and stock levels.
- Complete end-of-night cleaning.
- Restock fridges for the following day.
- Secure alcohol, cash and equipment.
- Follow all club closing procedures.
Health & Safety
- Follow all Health & Safety procedures.
- Comply with Food Hygiene and Licensing Regulations.
- Report hazards, accidents or incidents immediately.
- Wear appropriate uniform and maintain good personal hygiene.
Teamwork
- Work closely with other bar and kitchen staff.
- Assist during busy periods and club events.
- Be flexible with working hours, including evenings, weekends and public holidays. This role will be mainly weekend work.

- Previous bar or hospitality experience.

Pay: £12.71-£14.01 per hour
