Raising Explorers is seeking an experienced, passionate and qualified Level 3 Nursery Room Leader (Baby Room) to join our dedicated early years team. This is an exciting opportunity for a confident and enthusiastic leader who is committed to delivering exceptional care and education while leading and supporting a team within one of our nursery rooms.

As a Room Leader, you will play a key role in maintaining high standards of care, ensuring outstanding practice across your room, and supporting the professional development of your team.
We are looking for someone who leads by example, has excellent knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS), and is passionate about providing the very best start in life for every child.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the day-to-day running of your nursery room, ensuring the highest standards of care and education.
- Provide high-quality care and learning opportunities in accordance with the EYFS framework.
- Plan, implement and evaluate engaging, age-appropriate activities that support children's learning and development.
- Lead, support and motivate practitioners within your room to deliver outstanding practice.
- Ensure the safety, wellbeing and safeguarding of all children at all times.
- Observe, assess and accurately record children's progress.
- Build positive relationships with children, parents, carers and colleagues.
- Support children with individual needs, including those with additional needs where required.
- Maintain a clean, safe, organised and stimulating learning environment.
- Ensure nursery policies and procedures, including safeguarding, health and safety and Ofsted requirements, are consistently followed.
- Work closely with the management team to continuously improve the quality of the nursery.
Essential Skills and Experience
Applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Recognised Level 3 qualification in Childcare or Early Years (essential).
- Minimum of 2 years' experience working within an early years or nursery setting.
- Previous experience as a Room Leader, Third in Charge, Senior Nursery Practitioner or equivalent leadership role.
- Excellent knowledge and understanding of the EYFS framework.
- Strong knowledge of safeguarding and child protection procedures.
- Experience planning, assessing and tracking children's development.
- Excellent communication, leadership and organisational skills.
- A caring, patient and nurturing approach.
- Ability to lead a team and work collaboratively with colleagues.
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
Requirements
- Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).
- Right to work in the UK.
- Paediatric First Aid qualification is desirable.
- Safeguarding and relevant early years training is desirable.

Due to the leadership responsibilities of this role, applications will only be considered from candidates who hold a recognised Level 3 Early Years qualification and have previous experience in a leadership role within a nursery setting.
