Job Summary
We’re on the lookout for an energetic and friendly Sales Assistant (butchery) to join our team in our Harrington Foodstore. In this role, you'll be the friendly face helping customers select the best cuts of meat, ensuring they have a great shopping experience. Duties
- Assist customers in selecting high-quality meat products, offering advice on cuts and preparation.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the butchery counter, ensuring all products are presented attractively and hygienically.
- Support food preparation tasks such as slicing, packaging, and wrapping meat products according to safety standards.
- Follow food safety regulations diligently, including proper storage, handling, and rotation of stock.
- Restock shelves regularly to ensure a fresh and appealing display for customers.
- Collaborate with team members to deliver efficient service during busy periods.
- Provide friendly assistance by answering customer questions about products, dietary needs, or cooking tips.
Skills
- Experience in food production or culinary settings is highly desirable but not essential; enthusiasm to learn is key!
- Knowledge of butchery techniques, food safety practices, and proper food handling procedures.
- Previous restaurant or kitchen experience helps in understanding food prep and hygiene standards.
- Strong communication skills to engage with customers confidently and clearly.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.

Hours of work
23.5 hours over Thursday to Saturday + holiday and sickness cover.
Pay: £13.45 per hour
