Job Overview
We are seeking experienced and dependable Carpenter / Joiner on a subcontract basis to join our growing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality joinery services across a range of commercial and professional projects, ensuring exceptional standards of workmanship, attention to detail, and customer satisfaction.
Projects may include offices, retail units, educational facilities, healthcare settings, and other commercial properties, offering varied and rewarding work.
Candidates should be reliable, take pride in their work, and be capable of working both independently and as part of a team. A full UK driving licence is desirable, but transport will be provided to sites from our head office in Derbyshire.
Duties
- Carry out a wide range of first and second fix joinery works to a high standard
- Install and maintain fire doors in accordance with current regulations and specifications
- Construct and fit partitions, stud walls, fixed furniture, and other bespoke joinery items
- Read and interpret drawings, plans, and technical specifications to ensure accurate installation
- Measure, cut, assemble, and install timber and other materials with precision and attention to detail
- Ensure all work is completed in line with project requirements, quality standards, and client expectations
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organised working environment at all times
- Communicate effectively with clients, site managers, and colleagues regarding project progress and requirements
- Assist in the planning, coordination, and successful delivery of joinery projects from start to finish
- Follow all health and safety procedures, including the safe use of tools, equipment, and materials
- Work independently or as part of a team to meet project deadlines and maintain high standards of workmanship
- Identify and resolve on-site issues efficiently while maintaining quality and productivity
Requirements
- Proven experience in construction is desirable
- Good communication skills in English, both verbal and written
- IPAF & CSCS card desirable
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and instructions accurately
- Driving licence is advantageous for site visits and transportation of materials
- Strong attention to detail with a focus on quality workmanship
- Reliable, punctual, organised, and able to work independently or as part of a team
- Basic understanding of health and safety procedures related to painting and decorating tasks
- Pay depending on experience
Pay: £200.00-£300.00 per day
Work Location: In person
