Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Dental Nurse to join our dental practice. The successful candidate will assist dentists during procedures, provide excellent patient care, and ensure the smooth operation of daily clinic activities. Responsibilities
- Prepare treatment rooms and sterilise dental instruments in accordance with health and safety standards
- Assist dentists during a variety of dental procedures, including examinations, fillings, and extractions
- Provide support and reassurance to patients before, during, and after treatment
- Take and develop dental radiographs as required
- Manage patient records accurately using IT systems
- Ensure the clinic maintains high standards of cleanliness and organisation
- Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care instructions
- Handle administrative tasks such as appointment scheduling and patient correspondence
Requirements
- Good command of English, both spoken and written, to communicate effectively with patients and team members
- Knowledge of nursing principles relevant to dental care
- Proficiency in IT systems for record keeping and appointment management (EXACT)
- Excellent communication skills with a caring and professional demeanour
- Organisational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently in a busy environment
- Ability to work as part of a team while also demonstrating independence when required
- A recognised qualification in dental nursing
- Experience with specialists desirable but not essential
- Experience with implants and surgical procedures desirable
