From the team behind Glasgow favourites including Wunderbar and Kong, known for bringing energy, character and some of the city's best live music to their venues, we're now excited to bring that same spirit and passion to Edinburgh.
We’re looking for an experienced Duty Manager to join the team from the very beginning, supporting the management team in bringing this exciting new venue to life through pre-opening, launch and beyond.
About the Role:
As Duty Manager, you'll work closely with the management team to support the successful opening and daily operations of the venue. During the pre-opening phase, you'll assist with venue preparation, staff training and operational set-up. Once open, you'll lead shifts, support and develop the team, and ensure every guest enjoys a memorable experience in a welcoming and vibrant environment.
What the Role Involves:
- Taking responsibility for the smooth running of shifts, leading from the front and setting the standard for excellent service.
- Being a visible and hands-on presence on the floor, supporting the team and ensuring guests receive a warm, welcoming experience.
- Supporting supervisors & motivating and supporting the team throughout busy services.
- Helping to create a positive, energetic and supportive team environment.
- Ensuring consistently high standards of hospitality, service and product quality are maintained throughout every shift.
- Supporting the training and development of team members, helping new starters settle into the team and understand our standards.
- Taking responsibility for opening and closing procedures, including cash handling and end of shift checks.
- Supporting stock control, deliveries and maintaining accurate inventory levels.
- Ensuring every pint, cocktail and measure is prepared and presented consistently and to a high standard.
- Supporting the smooth delivery of live music, events and promotional activity.
- Building positive relationships with guests, handling feedback professionally and resolving any issues confidently and efficiently.
- Maintaining high standards of cleanliness, presentation, licensing compliance and health & safety throughout the venue.
- Communicating effectively with the management team and providing feedback on shift performance, team members and operational matters.
- Deputising for senior management when required and taking ownership of the venue in their absence.
What We're Looking For:
- Previous experience as a Duty Manager or Supervisor within a quality pub, premium bar or busy hospitality environment.
- A confident and approachable leader who enjoys being hands-on and supporting their team on the floor.
- Someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is comfortable taking responsibility during busy service.
- A genuine passion for hospitality and a commitment to creating memorable guest experiences.
- Excellent communication and people skills, with the ability to motivate a team and lead by example.
- Strong organisational and problem solving skills, with the ability to remain calm and make confident decisions during service.
- A good understanding of daily venue operations, including cash handling, stock control and opening and closing procedures.
- A high level of attention to detail and pride in maintaining excellent standards across the venue.
- Experience working in a premium pub, bar or high volume environment is advantageous.
- Experience working alongside live entertainment or events would be a bonus.
- Reliable and professional, with a positive and proactive approach to work.
- A good understanding of licensing legislation, health & safety and compliance requirements.
- A Personal Licence is preferred but not essential.
