We are looking for a proactive, organised and detail-oriented Human Resources Assistant to join our team and support our growing business across our Derby production facility and Manchester office.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to develop their HR career within a hands-on manufacturing environment. You'll play an important role in supporting our managers, maintaining HR processes and helping to create a positive employee experience. Training can be provided for the right candidate, making this an ideal role for someone looking to build on their existing HR knowledge.
Key Responsibilities
- Process employee hours using the time recording system.
- Manage staff rotas, holidays and absence records.
- Review, update and maintain job descriptions.
- Assist with reviewing and updating HR policies and the employee handbook, with support where required.
- Provide general HR administrative support across both the Derby and Manchester sites (with most Manchester support provided remotely).
- Visit the Manchester office occasionally to provide face-to-face HR support when required.
- Support managers and supervisors with day-to-day people management matters.
- Assist with internal investigations.
- Maintain accurate HR records and documentation.
- Support the ongoing development and administration of employee training, ensuring training records remain accurate and identifying opportunities to improve training processes.
About You
We're looking for someone who is:
- Highly organised with excellent attention to detail.
- A confident communicator who is comfortable liaising with employees and managers at all levels.
- Able to handle confidential information professionally and discreetly.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word and Outlook.
- Able to work independently while managing multiple priorities.
Experience supporting disciplinary or grievance processes would be beneficial, but is not essential as full training can be provided.
A CIPD qualification (or currently studying towards one) would be advantageous but is not essential.

Pay: £30,000.00-£34,000.00 per year
