Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and organised Activities Co-ordinator to enhance the quality of life for residents in our care home. This role involves planning, implementing, and evaluating engaging activities tailored to the needs and interests of our residents, with a particular focus on senior care, dementia care, and Alzheimer's care. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills and experience working within assisted living or nursing home environments. Responsibilities
- Develop and implement a diverse programme of activities that promote socialisation, mental stimulation, and physical wellbeing for residents.
- Tailor activities to meet individual needs, preferences, and abilities, especially considering dementia and Alzheimer's care requirements.
- Foster an inclusive environment that encourages participation from all residents, respecting their dignity and independence.
- Collaborate with care staff to integrate activity plans seamlessly into daily routines.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of activities, adjusting plans as necessary to optimise engagement.
- Maintain accurate records of resident participation and feedback to inform ongoing programme development.
- Organise special events, outings, and celebrations that enrich residents’ lives and foster community spirit.
- Ensure all activities are conducted in accordance with health and safety regulations and organisational policies.
Experience
- Previous experience working in assisted living or nursing home settings is highly desirable.
- Proven experience in senior care, dementia care or Alzheimer's care is preferred.
- Strong caregiving background with an understanding of the unique needs of elderly residents.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively engage with residents, families, and team members.
- Knowledge of person-centred care principles and activity planning tailored to individual needs.
