Estimator / Surveyor
Salary: £31,000 – £35,300

About the Role
Construo Recruitment is working in partnership with a well-established family-run construction business to recruit an Estimator / Surveyor.
Based in Cheltenham, this is an excellent opportunity to join a friendly and supportive team delivering predominantly insurance-funded domestic repair projects, with occasional commercial works.
This is a varied and client-facing role, ideal for someone with a strong construction background who understands domestic property repairs and is looking to develop within the insurance reinstatement sector.
Key Responsibilities
Attend properties to inspect damage and gather information for estimating purposes
Prepare detailed schedules of works for insurance-related repairs
Upload estimates and project information to insurer software systems
Tender projects and prepare accurate cost proposals
Build and maintain strong working relationships with clients and subcontractors
Prepare final accounts and manage project cost closeout
Produce health & safety documentation including CPP, CDM, and RAMS
Communicate clearly with customers, insurers, and internal teams throughout project delivery
Requirements
Strong background in domestic building and construction
Previous experience in estimating or surveying is advantageous but not essential
Practical understanding of repairing residential properties
Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and within a team
Strong communication and relationship-building skills
Good organisational skills and attention to detail
Full UK driving licence
Minimum 5 years’ construction experience preferred
