Manafab are pleased to be working with a manufacturing client in Ashfield, who operate in an incredibly niche market. We’re excited to introduce a new role within their business. This is a fantastic opportunity for a Welder to join their growing team.
The Role:
You will be responsible for MIG welding sheet metal panels to a high standard of accuracy. The role involves lifting heavy from engineering drawings and handling materials, so you must be comfortable with both technical and physical aspects of the job.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform MIG welding on sheet metal panels with precision and consistency
- Performing general fabrication techniques and processes such as grinding
- Read and interpret engineering drawings accurately
- Lift, move, and position sheet metal panels safely
- Ensure high standards of accuracy and quality in all welds
- Work collaboratively as part of a small, supportive team
About You:
- Given the nature of the high-security clients involved, candidates will be required to undergo a thorough background/security check as a condition of any offer.
- 2-3 years experience as a MIG welder, ideally within a sheet metal environment
- Ability to read and understand engineering drawings
- Able to switch between repetitive/routine and bespoke projects.
- Comfortable with manual handling and working with sheet metal panels
- High attention to detail and quality-focused approach
- A proactive attitude and willingness to contribute to the wider team
Salary/Hours:
- £13.50– £15.00ph (depending on experience)
- Monday to Thursday = 8am – 4:30pm, Friday 8am – 3:30 pm
- 3 Month's Temp-Perm initially, moving into perm after successful probation
- Paid and contracted directly by the client from day 1, no agency involvement
- 23 days annual leave + bank holidays
- Option to buy additional annual leave
