We have an excellent opportunity for a motivated and ambitious AutoCAD Technician to join our expanding family business, working within the high end joinery and fit out industry.
This full-time, permanent role involves taking ownership of projects from initial concept through to workshop manufacture and installation, turning high-end design concepts into precise technical reality.
OMC is a specialist joinery manufacturer with an excellent track record and a highly skilled workshop and site based team. We have over 20 years experience in the design, manufacture and installation of high-end quality joinery.
Key Responsibilities
- Drawing Production: Create accurate 2D AutoCAD drawings and 3D design visuals for client approval, workshop manufacture and site installation.
- Technical Detailing: Translate design concepts into practical, buildable workshop drawings for bespoke joinery, commercial interiors and retail environments.
- Material & Production Prep: Generate precise cutting lists, material schedules, CNC-ready information and complete take-offs for sheet materials, solid surfaces and hardware.
- Cross-Team Collaboration: Work closely with design, production and installation teams to resolve technical queries and ensure drawings align with manufacturing capabilities.
- Project Tracking: Manage multiple projects simultaneously, updating documentation based on site measurements and ensuring strictly met deadlines.
Requirements & Skills
- Industry Experience: Proven background as a CAD Technician or Setting Out Technician within bespoke joinery or interior fit-outs.
- Software Proficiency: Strong 2D AutoCAD expertise is essential. Knowledge of Revit, SolidWorks, SketchUp or other 3D modelling software is highly advantageous.
- Manufacturing Knowledge: Deep understanding of joinery construction methods, timber materials and production processes.
- Technical Capability: Confident in producing complex production documentation, hardware specifications and material take-offs.
- Soft Skills: Excellent attention to detail, robust problem-solving skills and the communication skills required to liaise confidently with the workshop floor.
