Job Description – General Assistant
Reporting to: Operations ManagerLocation: Ballywalter, Co. Down, Northern Ireland

Role Overview
The General Assistant supports the day-to-day operation, maintenance, and presentation of the holiday park. This is a varied, hands-on role that requires flexibility, a positive attitude, and a willingness to undertake a wide range of duties to ensure the park is safe, clean, and welcoming for guests, owners, and visitors.
The role involves working both independently and as part of a team and may include outdoor work in all weather conditions.
Key Responsibilities
Park Maintenance & Grounds
- General maintenance of the holiday park and facilities to a high standard
- Grass cutting, strimming, weeding, and maintaining flower beds and landscaped areas
- Litter picking and maintaining recycling and waste areas
- Sweeping and cleaning paths, communal areas, and facilities
- Painting and minor repair work as required
Facilities & Utilities
- Assisting with basic checks on play equipment and fire safety equipment
- Supporting the monitoring and maintenance of drainage and sewerage systems
- Delivering and supplying gas cylinders
- Assisting with electrical tasks such as switching on supplies and taking meter readings (where trained)
Operational Support
- Assisting with the siting and removal of caravan holiday homes as part of the parks team (training provided)
- Walking the park to cover the full site in connection with duties
- Locking and securing facilities when required
Equipment & Safety
- Safe use, cleaning, and storage of tools, machinery, and equipment
- Wearing Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as provided
- Following all Health & Safety procedures and company policies
- Being familiar with fire procedures, first aid points, and emergency protocols
Skills & Requirements
- Full Driving License with B&E (Car & Trailer) Entitlement Essential
- Ability to carry out physical, outdoor work in all weather conditions
- Willingness to undertake a wide variety of tasks as required
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Good timekeeping, reliability, and a positive work ethic
- Awareness of Health & Safety practices (training provided)
- Specialist skills such as painting, gardening, plumbing, electrical, mechanical, joinery, or herbicide application are desirable but not essential.
Additional Responsibilities
- Carrying out any other reasonable duties as directed by management to support the operational needs of the holiday park
- Complying with all Company Rules, policies, and procedures
