Key Requirements
- Minimum Level 3 Vehicle Maintenance & Repair Qualification
- Minimum 5 years' diagnostic technician experience in a professional garage environment
- Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills
- Experience using Bosch, Autel, Snap-on, or similar diagnostic systems
- Full UK Driving Licence
- Authorised to work in the UK
Desirable
- MOT Tester qualification
- Hybrid and EV experience or qualifications
- Manufacturer or specialist training certifications
About the Role
Southgate Garage is looking for an experienced Diagnostic Vehicle Technician to join our respected independent workshop.
As a Which? Approved Garage and member of the Good Garage Scheme, we pride ourselves on delivering honest advice, exceptional workmanship, and outstanding customer service. We're seeking a highly skilled technician who shares our commitment to quality and professionalism.
Working Hours
- 42.5 hours per week
- Monday to Friday, 8:00am – 5:00pm
- 30-minute unpaid lunch break
- Approximately one Saturday morning per month (maximum 14 per year, paid as overtime @ time and a half)
- Saturday hours: 8:00am – 1:00pm
Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and electronic vehicle faults
- Carry out servicing, maintenance, and repairs to a high standard
- Use modern diagnostic equipment and software to identify complex faults
- Complete work efficiently in line with manufacturer and industry standards
- Assist with general workshop duties as required
- Maintain exceptional standards of workmanship and customer service

You will be an experienced technician with excellent diagnostic capabilities and a passion for delivering high-quality work.
You should have:
- Extensive experience within a professional garage environment
- Strong understanding of modern vehicle mechanical, electrical, and electronic systems
- The ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills
