Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Assistant Baker to join our team. The successful candidate will support the bakery operations by assisting in food production, preparation, and baking processes. This role offers an excellent opportunity for an individual passionate about bread and other baked products to develop their skills within a professional kitchen environment. The Assistant Baker will work closely with our head baker to ensure the delivery of high-quality baked goods, that meet safety standards and customer expectations.
Responsibilities
- Assist in preparing ingredients and mixing dough or batter according to recipes
- Support the baking process by operating ovens, mixers, and other bakery equipment
- Ensure all baked products meet quality standards and presentation requirements
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the bakery workspace in compliance with food safety regulations
- Follow health and safety guidelines diligently during all stages of food production
- Assist in maintaining a hygienic environment by adhering to cleaning schedules and procedures
Requirements
- Prior experience or training in food production, food preparation, or baking is desirable but not essential; enthusiasm to learn is key
- Knowledge of basic food safety standards and hygiene practices within a kitchen or bakery setting
- Experience working in a restaurant or culinary environment is advantageous
- Ability to work efficiently under supervision while maintaining attention to detail. Ability to work independently
- Good organisational skills and ability to follow recipes accurately
- Ability to work efficiently in a busy environment
