Urban Empire Recruitment is partnering with a well-established and growing organisation based in Liverpool who are looking to welcome a motivated and detail-driven Accounts Assistant into their finance team.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a solid grounding in transactional finance who is eager to build on their experience and develop further within a supportive and fast-paced environment. You will play an important role in ensuring the smooth running of day-to-day finance operations while gaining exposure to a wide range of accounting responsibilities.
The role offers excellent long-term development potential, with the opportunity to work closely with experienced finance professionals and contribute to the ongoing improvement of finance processes and reporting accuracy.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with daily transactional finance tasks, including processing invoices and supporting both accounts payable and accounts receivable activities
- Carry out bank reconciliations and ensure financial records remain accurate and up to date
- Support month-end and year-end closing processes, assisting with reconciliations and financial documentation
- Prepare financial reports and supporting information for internal stakeholders when required
- Maintain accurate financial records using accounting software such as Sage, Xero, or QuickBooks
- Liaise with internal departments and external suppliers to resolve finance-related queries efficiently
- Assist with maintaining organised financial documentation and supporting compliance with internal processes
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and contribute to ongoing finance initiatives where appropriate
Requirements
- Previous experience working as an Accounts Assistant or within a similar transactional finance role
- Good understanding of basic accounting principles, reconciliations, and finance processes
- Strong attention to detail with a high level of accuracy when handling financial data
- Excellent communication, organisation, and time management skills
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team within a busy finance environment
- A proactive and positive approach with a strong willingness to learn and develop professionally
