Overview
We are a small, busy Italian Restaurant in Filey, specialising in meat, fish, pizza and pasta dishes. We are seeking a Pizza Chef to join our dynamic (English speaking) team. English speaking is preferred (for effective communication) but it does not have to be your first language. In this role you'll prepare and cook pizzas. Experience is essential, some training can be provide. You will be responsible in meeting all food safety standards. Pay is above minimum wage and is to be discussed
Responsibilities
- Daily kitchen operations, ensuring high standards of food quality and presentation.
- Make fresh Pizzas and assist the head chef with preparing dishes
- A strong commitment to learn the cooking/ dishes/ role of the head chef and sous chef to be able to cover shifts
- Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and maintain cleanliness throughout the kitchen.
- Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure seamless service during meal times.
- Monitor inventory levels of ingredients and supplies, placing orders as necessary.
- Create an inspiring environment that fosters teamwork and encourages culinary innovation.Qualifications
- Preferred experience as a Pizza Chef or in a similar role within the hospitality industry.
- Knowledge of food production techniques, kitchen equipment, and food safety standards preferred
- Ability to work in a diverse team effectively.
- Ability to be proactive and provide an example to other team members
- Passion for cooking with an emphasis on quality ingredients and presentation.
- Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills to liaise effectively with both kitchen and front-of-house teams.
