Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Cleaner to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining cleanliness and hygiene in various environments, ensuring that all areas are tidy and presentable. This role requires a proactive approach to cleaning tasks and a commitment to providing excellent service to our clients.
The Role
You’ll be responsible for keeping our production area and office spaces clean, safe, and compliant with food manufacturing hygiene standards. This is a hands-on, active role that plays a vital part in maintaining our BRCGS-accredited facility.
You’ll work across both the manufacturing floor and office areas, adapting your approach to suit each environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Clean and sanitise the production area in line with GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) and food safety requirements
- Deep clean and maintain production equipment, floors, walls, and surfaces as scheduled
- Carry out daily office cleaning including kitchens, toilets, communal areas, and workspaces
- Manage waste disposal correctly, including segregation of production and general waste
- Replenish consumables (soap, paper towels, sanitiser stations) across the site
- Complete cleaning logs and checklists accurately and in a timely manner
- Report any maintenance issues, hygiene concerns, or near-misses to your line manager
- Support preparation for internal audits and third-party inspections (e.g. BRCGS)
- Follow all site health & safety rules, including PPE requirements in the production area
What We’re Looking For
Essential:
- Previous experience in a cleaning role (preferably in a food production environment)
- Reliable, punctual, and takes pride in the quality of their work
- Comfortable working in a busy manufacturing environment
- Physically fit and able to perform manual tasks including mopping, lifting, and repetitive cleaning duties
- Able to follow written and verbal instructions
- Good attention to detail and a conscientious approach to hygiene
Desirable:
- Experience cleaning in a food production, pharmaceutical, or similarly regulated environment
- Familiarity with COSHH regulations and safe use of cleaning chemicals
- Knowledge of or exposure to BRCGS or similar food safety standards
