Rivenstars, (part of the Second Steps Group) are seeking a dedicated and experienced Nursery Practitioner at Level 2 or Level 3, to join our team on a term-time only basis, working 26.5 hours per week.
This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals passionate about early childhood education and childcare to contribute to a nurturing environment for young children. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting children's development, ensuring their safety, and fostering a positive learning atmosphere. Previous nursery experience and strong communication skills are essential for this position.
Duties:
- Plan and deliver engaging activities tailored to the developmental needs of children in accordance with early childhood education standards.
- A Level 2 or Level 3 qualification in Early Childhood education / childcare.
- Supervise children during play, meal times, and rest periods, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times.
- Support children's emotional and social development through positive interactions and guidance.
- Maintain accurate records of children's progress, behaviour, and daily activities in compliance with nursery policies.
- Collaborate with colleagues to create a welcoming and inclusive environment that promotes learning and development.
- Ensure the nursery environment is clean, safe, and stimulating, adhering to health and safety regulations.
- Communicate effectively with parents/carers regarding their child's progress and any concerns that may arise.
- Assist with organising outings or trips that support educational programmes, including driving when necessary.
Skills:
- Proven experience working with children within a nursery or early childhood setting.
- Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written, to engage effectively with children, parents, and colleagues.
- Knowledge of childcare practices, early childhood education principles, and safeguarding procedures.
- Ability to organise activities that are educational, fun, and age-appropriate.
- Compassionate approach with a genuine interest in supporting young children's growth.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing needs within the nursery environment.
