Charlie Laboratory Ltd is a UK-based beauty and cosmetics manufacturer specialising in OEM/ODM services for skincare, cosmetics and personal care products.
We are looking for a motivated Business Development Executive to join our growing commercial team.
This is a sales-focused role for someone who is confident in developing new B2B business, building relationships and converting opportunities into long-term manufacturing partnerships.
The role is 3 working days per week, with a basic hourly salary plus commission based on successfully completed sales.
Charlie Laboratory participates in beauty exhibitions, trade shows and industry events across London, the UK, Europe and Asia. The company provides access to these exhibitions and business development opportunities, while the successful candidate will be expected to actively use these resources to identify, approach and develop potential clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Proactively identify and approach potential B2B clients within the beauty, skincare, cosmetics and personal care industries.
- Develop new business through exhibitions, trade shows, networking events, industry contacts and independent prospecting.
- Actively engage with potential clients during exhibitions and convert new contacts into qualified sales opportunities.
- Build and maintain relationships with beauty brands, salons, clinics, distributors, retailers and other potential manufacturing clients.
- Follow up leads generated through exhibitions, enquiries and other business development channels.
- Understand clients’ product requirements and introduce suitable OEM/ODM manufacturing solutions.
- Support clients throughout the quotation, sampling, product development and manufacturing process.
- Coordinate with internal management, R&D and production teams to ensure effective communication with clients.
- Prepare and follow up quotations, presentations and business proposals.
- Conduct market research and identify new brands, emerging categories and potential business opportunities.
- Maintain accurate records of leads, client communications and sales progress.
- Work towards individual business development and sales targets.
- Attend exhibitions, networking events and client meetings in the UK and internationally when required.
Requirements
- Previous experience in sales, business development, account management or B2B customer development is preferred.
- Experience within beauty, cosmetics, skincare, manufacturing or a related industry would be an advantage.
- Strong interest in the beauty and cosmetics industry.
- Confident approaching new clients and initiating business conversations.
- Strong communication, negotiation and relationship-building skills.
- Self-motivated and comfortable with proactive client development.
- Able to independently follow up leads and progress opportunities towards conversion.
- Fluent English is required.
- Chinese language skills would be an advantage but are not essential.
- Right to work in the UK.
- Willingness to travel for exhibitions, trade shows and client meetings when required.
Working Arrangement, Probation & Compensation
- Initial probationary period: 3–6 months
- During the probationary period, the role will be 2 or 3 working days per week
- Upon successful completion of the probationary period, the position will progress to a full-time role, 4 days per week
- Competitive hourly rate, depending on relevant industry experience(£13-£18/hour)
- Additional sales commission based on a percentage of successfully completed sales

What We Are Looking For
This position is particularly suitable for someone who enjoys actively developing new business rather than only managing existing accounts.
We are looking for someone who can make full use of the company’s exhibition presence, industry events and manufacturing capabilities to build their own client pipeline, develop new relationships and convert opportunities into long-term business.
Pay: £13.00-£18.00 per hour
