Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Roofing Labourer to join our construction team. This role involves assisting with various roofing projects, ensuring safety and quality standards are maintained throughout. The ideal candidate will be physically fit, eager to learn, and capable of working effectively in a team environment. Prior construction experience is advantageous but not essential, as training will be provided. The position offers an excellent opportunity to develop skills in roofing and general construction trades within a professional setting.
Duties
- Assist with the installation, repair, and maintenance of roofing systems using hand tools and power tools
- Prepare work sites by clearing debris and setting up scaffolding or safety barriers
- Handle heavy lifting of materials such as shingles, tiles, or metal sheets safely and efficiently
- Use schematics and technical drawings to support roofing layouts and installations
- Operate welding equipment when required for metal roofing components or fabrication tasks
- Support carpentry, masonry, plumbing, or fabrication tasks as needed on-site
- Assist with the use of power tools and hand tools to cut, shape, and install roofing materials
- Follow health and safety protocols diligently to ensure a safe working environment for all team members
- Collaborate with team members to complete projects within designated timeframes
Qualifications
- Prior experience in construction, roofing, or related trades is desirable but not mandatory; training will be provided for suitable candidates
- Knowledge of schematics, welding, carpentry, masonry, plumbing, or fabrication is beneficial
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently throughout the workday
- Familiarity with hand tools and power tools used in construction environments
- Good physical fitness with the ability to work at heights and in various weather conditions
- Strong teamwork skills and a proactive attitude towards learning new skills
- Valid health and safety awareness; willingness to adhere to all site safety regulations
