Secondment opportunity for 12 months
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an accomplished administrative professional to join the Safeguarding Unit to work as Senior Safeguarding Administrator. This is a year long secondment in a Band 4 role and is 22.5 hours per week (due to staffing levels, candidates must be available to work on Monday, Tuesdays and Fridays). You must have permission from your Line Manager to apply for this role on a secondment basis.
The role of the Senior Safeguarding Administrator will be primarily to work in collaboration with the Child Protection Medical Co-Ordinator to organise and process medicals for children who may have suffered physical or sexual abuse but there will also be scope to assist the Safeguarding Unit Co-Ordinator with other aspects of administrating the safeguarding duties of the Trust. We are looking for a dynamic and motivated individual, who can provide high quality administrative services to assist a multi discipline, multi agency team. The post holder will need to show initiative and independent judgement, be comfortable with decision making and taking responsibility for their actions as well as being able to fit into the team structure of the Unit. This role will work closely with the Unit Co-Ordinator and be expected to cover for the senior manager during any leave.
The successful candidate will have excellent written and verbal communication skills as well as strong experience of a busy office environment. They will enjoy working with numerous agencies, with a mixed and unpredictable workload. This post would suit a candidate who can demonstrate emotional resilience, calmness under pressure and supreme professionalism.

The cost of undertaking a DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service formerly known as CRB) disclosure will be met by the individual. The Trust will meet the initial costs of the disclosure which will be deducted from your first month’s salary. The current price of a standard check is £26 and an enhanced check is £44.
