Activities Coordinator

Job Description
As an Activities Coordinator you will be working across are 3 extra care schemes . you will play a crucial role in enhancing the quality of life for our residents. You will be responsible for creating and implementing a stimulating environment that meets the emotional, social, physical, and intellectual needs of each individual.
Key Responsibilities:
- Identify and report any concerns within the resident group to management.
- Educate staff on the distinction between activities and entertainment.
- Coordinate social care activities with the care team to ensure all residents have opportunities for engagement and social interaction.
- Maintain professional conduct with visitors, staff, and residents.
- Conduct risk assessments for all activities and outings.
- Promote anti-discriminatory practices and uphold confidentiality.
- Foster equality and diversity in all aspects of your work.
Administrative Duties:
- Produce a monthly newsletter and share copies with Head Office.
- Photograph and document events within the home.
- Ensure residents receive acknowledgements such as cards and letters.
- Regularly update door signs (memory boards) for residents.
- Maintain a “Remember Me” book at reception.
- Keep records of all activities up to date.
- Visit residents regularly to address any wants or concerns.
- Create a weekly activities program and maintain an updated activities file.
- Update the compliments book with letters, cards, and photos.
- Ensure all activities are evidence-based, detailing the activity, necessary equipment, benefits, and any contraindications.
Practical Activities:
- Organize and conduct various activities, including quizzes, knitting, woodwork, bingo, word searches, gardening, crafts, shopping trips, music sessions, outings, beauty therapy, sewing groups, events, cooking, reminiscence activities, and residents meetings.
- Marketing and Community Engagement:
- Organize garden fetes, open days, and “Meet the Manager” meetings.
Essential Criteria
- Proven ability to work both as part of a team and independently.
- Willingness to attend necessary training sessions as required by management.
- Demonstrated loyalty and commitment.
- Flexibility to carry out additional duties as agreed with Managers/Operations Team.
- 1-2 years experience
- Enthusiasm and ability to use initiative is vital in this role.
- You will be required to work some weekends.
