Job Purpose
We are seeking a hardworking, dynamic, and tech-savvy Deputy Care Manager / Care Coordinator to join our growing domiciliary care and supported living team in Bradford. This is a dual-aspect role combining essential operational coordination with proactive business development.
You will ensure the smooth running of day-to-day care delivery through efficient scheduling, high-quality staff training, and compliance monitoring, while actively driving business growth by onboarding new service users and filling vacancies within our supported living properties.
Key Responsibilities1. Rota Management & Field Coordination
- Scheduling: Efficiently build, manage, and optimize staff rotas ensuring full coverage and continuity of care for all service users.
- Emergency Cover: Demonstrate a hands-on approach by personally covering gaps in the rota or delivering field care when emergency shortages arise.
- IT Proficiency: Utilize care management software and digital rostering platforms to monitor real-time check-ins and schedule adjustments.
2. Compliance, Assessments & Quality Assurance
- Care Planning: Conduct thorough initial assessments and design person-centered care plans for new service users.
- Risk Management: Write, review, and update comprehensive risk assessments to protect both clients and staff.
- Quality Control: Conduct regular field spot checks and competency audits on care staff to ensure high standards of care and CQC compliance.
3. Staff Recruitment, Induction & Training
- Onboarding: Deliver robust company inductions for new candidates, ensuring they understand policies, procedures, and core values.
- Continuous Training: Coordinate and deliver ongoing training modules and refreshers for existing staff to maintain a highly skilled workforce.
- Mentorship: Support staff development and act as a reliable point of contact for care workers in the field.
4. Business Development & Property Growth
- Property Sourcing & Occupancy: Actively network and chase new business opportunities to source service users for our vacant supported living properties.
- Client Onboarding: Build relationships with local authorities, social workers, healthcare professionals, and private clients to secure new domiciliary care packages.
- Revenue Optimization: Identify opportunities for growth and rapidly finalize temporary or permanent increases in care call hours with existing clients or local commissioners.
Candidate Profile & RequirementsExperience & Qualifications
- Care Sector Experience: Proven experience working within Domiciliary Care, Supported Living, or Residential Care (essential).
- Coordination Skills: Experience managing complex staff rotas, or a strong, proven ability to master scheduling software quickly.
- Business Mindset: Previous experience or a natural aptitude for business development, marketing care services, or chasing referrals.
- Qualifications: NVQ/QCF Level 3 in Health and Social Care (or equivalent) is highly desirable, or a willingness to work towards it.
