The Farmhouse at Fincham is entering an exciting new chapter with the launch of The Pig & Peacock, our newly reimagined pub, restaurant and rooms concept.
Combining exceptional hospitality, quality food and drink, beautiful accommodation and memorable guest experiences, we are building a team of passionate hospitality professionals to help bring our vision to life.
We are looking for a hands-on, energetic and guest-focused Shift Leader to support our management team and play a key role in delivering outstanding service across all areas of the business.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone looking to develop their hospitality career within a growing independent business where no two days are the same.
About the Role
As a Shift Leader, you will support the day-to-day operation of The Pig & Peacock and The Farmhouse at Fincham across:
- Front Desk & Reception
- Restaurant & Bar Operations
- Guest Accommodation
- Housekeeping Support
- Events & Functions
You will lead shifts, support colleagues, ensure operational standards are maintained and create exceptional guest experiences throughout the property.
What You'll Be DoingGuest Experience
- Deliver a warm, professional and welcoming experience to every guest.
- Create memorable moments through exceptional customer service.
- Handle guest enquiries, requests and feedback confidently and professionally.
- Resolve issues promptly and effectively to ensure guest satisfaction.
Front Desk & Reception
- Support guest arrivals and departures.
- Assist with reservations, bookings and guest communications.
- Ensure accurate record keeping and smooth shift handovers.
- Act as a key point of contact throughout a guest's stay.
Food & Beverage Operations
- Support service across the restaurant, bar and events spaces.
- Take orders, serve food and drinks, and engage with guests.
- Maintain high presentation standards throughout service.
- Support upselling initiatives and revenue targets.
- Work closely with kitchen and bar teams to ensure smooth service delivery.
Operational Leadership
- Support the smooth running of daily operations.
- Complete opening and closing procedures.
- Ensure company standards and checklists are consistently followed.
- Communicate effectively across departments.
- Support managers in delivering business objectives.
Team Development
- Lead by example on every shift.
- Support and mentor new team members.
- Help create a positive and supportive team culture.
- Encourage high standards of service and professionalism.
Compliance & Standards
- Maintain food safety, health & safety and licensing standards.
- Ensure cleanliness and presentation standards are consistently achieved.
- Follow company procedures and report concerns appropriately.
What We're Looking ForEssential
- Previous hospitality experience.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to work across multiple departments.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Flexible approach to working hours.
- Ability to remain calm and professional under pressure.
Desirable
- Experience in a hotel, restaurant, pub or events venue.
- Previous supervisory or team leader experience.
- Knowledge of reservation systems or hotel software.
- Personal Licence holder (advantageous but not essential).
