About the Role
We are recruiting a calm, patient and consistent Support Worker (Driver Required) to provide full-day, structured support to an adult female with Down Syndrome, dysphagia and behaviours that can challenge.
She thrives when supported by familiar staff who follow a predictable routine and communicate gently and clearly.
What You’ll Do
- Support with morning routine, personal care and medication
- Prepare meals and ensure food is served to her preferred temperature
- Support with daily activities (cinema, parks, swimming, days out etc.)
- Provide reassurance and use low-stimulus approaches if she becomes distressed
- Encourage healthy eating, household tasks and meaningful engagement
- Work as part of a three-carer team for community access
What We’re Looking For
- Experience in learning disabilities, autism and/or behaviours that challenge
- A calm communicator who can follow routines consistently
- Full UK driving licence (essential)
- Confident driving an automatic vehicle (client has her own car)
- Reliable, patient, and able to use positive reinforcement
- Able to follow detailed care plans and PBS guidance
