At St George’s Nursery Group, we’re looking for an ambitious and passionate Deputy Nursery Manager to join our Aylestone nursery. This is an excellent opportunity for a strong senior practitioner, Room Leader, Third-in-Charge or existing Deputy Manager who is looking to develop their leadership skills and progress towards a Nursery Manager position in the future.
Working closely with the Nursery Manager and leadership team, you’ll play a key role in leading the team, maintaining high standards of care and education, supporting operational excellence, and creating an environment where children, families and colleagues can thrive.

About the Role
As Deputy Nursery Manager, you will support the day-to-day management of the nursery and provide leadership across the setting. You’ll inspire and coach your team, ensure compliance with statutory requirements, champion quality practice, and lead by example.
You will also have opportunities to work alongside our experienced leadership team and dedicated Training and Quality Manager, gaining valuable skills and experience that will prepare you for the next stage of your career.
Key Responsibilities
Support the Nursery Manager with the daily running of the nursery
Lead, motivate and develop a high-performing team
Promote outstanding standards of care, learning and safeguarding
Ensure compliance with EYFS, Ofsted and all relevant policies and procedures
Support staff development through coaching, mentoring and supervision
Build positive relationships with children, families and professionals
Monitor practice and contribute to continuous quality improvement
Take responsibility for the nursery in the Manager’s absence
Support occupancy growth and ensure excellent customer experiences for families
What We’re Looking For
Full and relevant Level 3 Early Years qualification or above
Previous leadership experience within an Early Years setting
Strong knowledge of the EYFS and safeguarding requirements
Excellent communication and organisational skills
A positive, proactive and supportive leadership style
Passion for delivering exceptional childcare and education
Ambition to develop professionally and progress within a growing nursery group
