Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Master 500GT to join our dynamic maritime team. Duties
- Supervise daily vessel operations, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and operational procedures for ships over 500 gross tons
- Conduct thorough inspections of ship systems, including propulsion, navigation, communication, and safety equipment, to maintain optimal performance
- Coordinate maintenance schedules and oversee repairs to ensure vessels remain in top condition and meet all regulatory standards
- Lead crew training sessions on safety protocols, emergency procedures, and operational best practices to foster a culture of safety and efficiency
- Prepare detailed reports on vessel status, maintenance activities, and compliance audits for senior management review
- Monitor voyage planning, cargo handling, and port operations to optimize efficiency while adhering to environmental and safety standards
- Stay updated on international maritime laws and regulations affecting vessels over 500GT, implementing necessary changes promptly
Requirements
- Proven experience operating or managing vessels classified as over 500 gross tons with a strong understanding of maritime safety standards
- Certification as a Master or Captain with relevant maritime authorities recognized internationally or nationally
- Extensive knowledge of shipboard systems including navigation, communication, propulsion, and safety equipment
- Ability to lead and motivate crew members while maintaining high standards of safety and operational excellence
- Excellent problem-solving skills with the capacity to respond swiftly to emergencies or technical issues onboard
- Strong communication skills for effective coordination with port authorities, crew members, and management teams
- Commitment to continuous learning about evolving maritime regulations and industry best practices
