Cleaning Operative – Temporary Contract
Location: Derby City Centre
Pay: £12.71 per hour
Contract: Temporary – until 16th September 2026
Typical Hours: 9:00am – 4:00pm
CGD Group is looking for reliable and hardworking Cleaning Operatives to join our team in Derby City Centre on a temporary contract.
The role involves cleaning student accommodation as part of a busy summer turnaround programme. You will be working as part of a team to ensure accommodation is cleaned to a high standard and ready for new students.
Duties will include:
- Cleaning student bedrooms
- Cleaning bathrooms and shower rooms
- Cleaning shared kitchens
- Cleaning corridors and communal areas
- Vacuuming, mopping and general floor cleaning
- Wiping and sanitising surfaces
- Emptying bins
- Completing cleaning tasks to a high standard within set timeframes
What we’re looking for:
- Reliable and punctual
- Able to work in a fast-paced environment
- Hardworking with a good attention to detail
- Able to work effectively as part of a team
- Comfortable with physically active work
- Able to follow instructions and complete allocated rooms/areas within required times
- Previous cleaning experience is preferred but not essential
Shifts will usually be 9:00am–4:00pm with a break, although some flexibility may be required depending on operational needs.
This is a temporary position ending 16th September 2026 and would suit someone looking for short-term work over the summer.
Pay: £12.71 per hour
