We are looking for an ambitious, target-driven Business Development Manager (BDM)
to spearhead growth and corporate outreach. Operating from our flagship restaurant in the heart of Scotland, you will be the driving force behind filling our dining rooms, securing seasonal event bookings, and building long-lasting B2B partnerships with local companies. Key Responsibilities
As a Business Development Manager
Manager, you will be responsible for:
- Proactively hunting for new business opportunities through cold outreach, networking events, and local business partnerships.
- Securing lucrative corporate dining accounts, seasonal party bookings, and exclusive hire agreements with city-center businesses.
- Tracking market trends in the Birmingham hospitality scene, analysing competitor offerings and developing strategies to maximize revenue.
- Maintaining an active system to ensure seamless communication with clients from the first pitch to the post-event follow-up.
· Working closely with our General Manager and events team to ensure client requirements flawlessly translate into memorable dining experiences.
- Building and maintain strong relationships with existing and potential customers (e.g., chefs, procurement managers, food service distributors).
- Act as the main point of contact for key accounts, ensuring customer satisfaction and long-term partnerships.
- Conduct regular meetings and presentations to clients to showcase products and solutions.
Essential Requirements
Applicants should possess:
· Communication and team management abilities.
· Previous experience of business development managing a large team.
- Proven B2B sales experience (2–4+ years) within premium hospitality, event management, or the restaurant sector.
- Deep knowledge of the local Scotland corporate and event market.
- A fearless net worker with exceptional communication and negotiation skills.
- Familiarity with restaurant reservation/event management platforms.
· Highly organized with the ability to forecast sales and manage a robust pipeline
· Demonstrated ability in team management and supervising staff effectively.
· Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate and inspire a diverse team.
· Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in all aspects of restaurant operations.
- Good organizational and time management skills.
- The ability to work effectively under pressure and achieve business targets.
- Experience in stock management, relay instructions to suppliers, kitchen staff, and servers quickly and precisely to eliminate logistical errors.
