Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Kitchen Porter/Breakfast Cook to join our team. This role involves supporting the kitchen operations by ensuring cleanliness and assisting with food preparation for breakfast, weddings and event service. The ideal candidate will have a passion for hospitality, enjoy working in a fast-paced environment, and possess a keen eye for detail. Previous experience in a restaurant or hotel kitchen is advantageous but not essential, as training will be provided.
Duties
- Assist with food preparation and basic cooking tasks for breakfast service
- Maintain cleanliness of all kitchen areas, including washing dishes, utensils, and cookware
- Support the kitchen team in organising ingredients and supplies
- Ensure all food safety and hygiene standards are adhered to at all times
- Help with the cooking and setting up of breakfast and clearing down following service
- Monitor stock levels and notify management of replenishment needs
- Follow health and safety procedures diligently to maintain a safe working environment
Requirements
- Experience in food preparation, cooking, or hospitality is preferred but not mandatory
- Previous experience working in a restaurant, hotel, or catering environment is advantageous
- Knowledge of kitchen safety and hygiene standards
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure during busy times
- Good organisational skills and attention to detail
- Friendly demeanour with excellent communication skills
- Flexibility to work early mornings and weekends as required
