We are seeking a Nursery Assistant to support our friendly teams at Fairfield Nursery working on a flexible shift basis. The role will include supporting our Practitioners in their day to day tasks. Full training to NVQ Level 2 or 3 will be available for suitable applicants.
Duties will include:
- Setting up and clearing away activities
- Assisting children with routine tasks and personal hygiene
- Assisting children during meal times and cleaning down afterwards
- Cleaning and maintaining play areas/toys & equipment
- Interacting with children during indoor and outdoor activities and routines
- Working with all age groups 0-4 yrs
Basic contracted hours will be equivalent to 16 hours a week worked on a flexi-shift basis, additional working hours will be required (up to 40 hours a week during busy periods/staff holidays) depending on the contract agreed and the needs of the setting.
The nursery operates shifts between the hours of 6.45 am and 6.00 pm Monday to Friday, ideally candidates need to be able to work flexibly within these hours on a varied shift pattern.
Childcare qualifications to Level 2 or 3 are an advantage but not essential, however it is important that candidates are reliable and have a friendly and compassionate nature and enjoy caring for children aged 3 mths to 4 years.
