Applications are invited for a Clinical Data Mapping Manager, to work with The Clinical Informatics and Health Outcomes Research Group (CIHORG) at the Nuffield Department of Primary Care Health Sciences is a multi-partner, national and international initiative.
The successful applicant will be developing systems to increase the availability and accessibility of RCGP-RSC data and phenotypes. These would include the publication of phenotypes on a public website. Applications are invited from candidates with experience of dealing with the coding systems and data used in computerised medical records. The focus of our work is primary care data using SNOMED CT, but we also work with hospital, cancer and other data sources.
Responsibilities will include working on the mapping of dataset to standard data models, principally The Observational Medical Outcomes Partnership (OMOP) Common Data Model (CDM) from Observational Health Data Sciences and Informatics (OHDSI). The Clinical Informatics and Health Outcomes Research Group runs the data core of the Oxford-Royal College of General Practitioners Clinical Informatics Digital Hub. It is one of Europe’s oldest sentinel networks with over 2000 GP practice members of the network (RSC).
The post holder will liaise, communicate and build relationships with senior colleagues including senior staff in the University, national and international collaborators, the pharmaceutical industry, regulatory bodies and NHS trusts. The post holder will be required to attend key department meetings and to represent the research team at external meetings.
You will be based in the Gibson Building, Nuffield Department of Primary Care Health Sciences, Radcliffe Primary Care Building, Woodstock Road, Oxford, OX2 6GG as your normal place of work. There is a degree of flexibility regarding patterns of work which can be discussed and agreed with the line manager. We are supportive of hybrid working; however, the post-holder is expected to work in the office regularly and attend in-person events and meetings where possible.
The position is funded by the CIHORG project portfoliountil 31st March 2027 in the first instance.
