Job Description:
A key role responsible for managing quality performance and ensuring compliance across operations. You will liaise with internal and external stakeholders to resolve quality issues, drive effective corrective actions, and oversee non-conformance processes.
You will support the development and maintenance of the Quality Management System, conduct audits to ensure effectiveness, and report performance to management. The role also focuses on identifying continuous improvement opportunities and promoting a Zero Defect culture across the organisation.. Within this role there may be travel overseas to the US and National Travel within the UK.
Core duties:
- Lead, develop, and mentor a team of buyers, driving capability building, performance management, and continuous professional development
- Own and optimise end-to-end order book management across a portfolio of suppliers, ensuring timely order placement, delivery performance, and invoice payment in line with governance, compliance, and best practice standards
- Act as a key interface across the wider Air business, collaborating closely with Programme Management, Supply Chain, Engineering, Quality, and Finance to ensure alignment and delivery of business objectives
- Lead and facilitate structured supplier performance reviews (weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual), driving accountability, and continuous improvement
- Proactively manage supplier risk, ensuring robust business continuity planning and strengthening overall supply chain resilience
- Build good on-site relationships through regular supplier engagement, including travel to supplier locations as required
Essential Skills:
- Extensive Procurement experience, preferably in an aerospace or manufacturing market, with working understanding of tool sets and IT such as ERP systems, Microsoft Office programs and Tableau dashboarding
- A proven ability to collaborate, fostering close & trusting relationships with internal and external stakeholders and having excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Experience and ability to drive Continuous Improvement with proven examples of identifying new ideas and driving improvement within a procurement function.
- Supply Chain orderbook management experience, including detailed understanding and experience of supplier risk and opportunity management
The Performance Delivery Team
Supporting critical supplier and delivery activities, this function helps maintain efficient operations across complex aerospace programmes. Working closely with procurement, engineering and quality teams, it drives supplier performance, strengthens supply chain resilience and supports continuous improvement to ensure products and services are delivered effectively and on schedule..
