Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Block Paver to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have experience in various paving techniques and a strong understanding of masonry work. As a Block Paver, you will be responsible for laying blocks and bricks to create durable surfaces for pathways, patios, and other structures. This role requires attention to detail, physical stamina, and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
Responsibilities
- Lay blocks and bricks accurately according to specifications and designs.
- Prepare surfaces by clearing debris and ensuring proper alignment.
- Use power tools and hand tools effectively to cut and shape materials as needed.
- Collaborate with other tradespeople, including carpenters and welders, to ensure seamless project execution.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment by following health and safety regulations.
- Conduct regular inspections of work completed to ensure quality standards are met.
- Assist in the mixing of mortar or concrete as required for various projects.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members regarding project progress.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in block paving, bricklaying, or masonry work is essential.
- Proficiency in using power tools and hand tools related to construction tasks.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints or technical drawings is advantageous.
- Strong physical fitness with the capability to lift heavy materials and stand for extended periods.
- A background in roofing or related construction fields is a plus.
- Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work well both independently and as part of a team.
