Darley and Summerbridge Primary School Federation is seeking to appoint a compassionate, dedicated and resilient SEN General Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support for a pupil with high needs at Summerbridge Primary School.

The Role
You will work closely with the class teacher to support a pupil with complex needs, ensuring they can access learning and make meaningful progress both academically and socially.
Key responsibilities include:
- Providing 1:1 support tailored to the pupil’s individual education plan (IEP/EHCP)
- Supporting the child’s communication, emotional regulation and engagement in learning
- Implementing agreed strategies and interventions
- Promoting positive behaviour and independence
- Working collaboratively with teachers, SEN staff, parents and external professionals
- Supporting the child during classroom activities, transitions and unstructured times
The Ideal Candidate Will:
- Have experience of working with children with SEN, particularly high needs (desirable but not essential)
- Be patient, calm and nurturing, with a flexible approach
- Demonstrate a strong understanding of inclusive practice
- Be able to build positive relationships with children and staff
- Have good communication and teamwork skills
- Be willing to undertake relevant training
