Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Children's Home Responsible Individual (RI) to support our Registered Manager on a self-employed, hybrid consultancy basis. This role is primarily remote (video calls, phone, text) with site visits every two weeks or monthly, dependent on the needs of the home. You will act as a critical safeguard and compliance support. Daily fee: £350–£500 (dependent on experience). Days worked will be agreed as needed, with no minimum commitment.
Responsibilities
- Provide professional support to the Registered Manager (RM) when required
- Support the RM with any safeguarding concerns
- Assist senior management and the RM to keep the service compliant
- Hybrid working: mainly video meetings, phone calls, text messages
- Respond to urgent matters before COB
- Respond to non-urgent matters within 24 hours
- Provide on-call assistance (approximately once a month)
- Site visits every two weeks or monthly, dependent on the needs of the home
- Attend staff and home functions on an ad hoc basis
Essential Requirements
- Experience as an RI or senior manager in an Ofsted-regulated children's home
- Strong knowledge of Children's Homes Regulations 2015
- Own vehicle and valid driving licence
- Ability to work remotely and attend site visits in Sittingbourne
