Ashton Gate Stadium is a unique sports and entertainment business with the core aim of providing integral support services to ensure the sustainability of Stephen Lansdown’s sporting group of companies which includes Bristol Sport, Bristol City, Bristol Bears, Bristol Flyers Basketball and each of their respective community charities.
JOB PURPOSE
The Casual Match Day Staffing Co-ordinator is responsible for ensuring all casual and agency staff are effectively managed during match days. The role involves coordinating staff attendance, supporting new starters, ensuring uniform compliance, issuing equipment, resolving staffing and technology issues, and maintaining a smooth staffing operation to deliver a safe and professional event.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES (KPIs)
Staffing Co-ordination
· Check in all casual and agency staff on arrival.
· Ensure staff are deployed to the correct work areas in line with the staffing plan.
· Support managers with last-minute staffing changes and redeploy staff where required.
· Maintain accurate attendance records throughout the event.
Time & Attendance
· Ensure all staff clock in and out correctly using the designated timekeeping system.
· Resolve attendance queries and report any discrepancies to management.
· Monitor punctuality and communicate any issues to supervisors.
Uniform & Equipment
· Ensure all staff meet uniform and presentation standards before commencing work.
· Issue relevant uniforms, PPE, radios, accreditation or equipment as required.
· Record the issue and return of equipment where applicable.
· Escalate any uniform shortages or equipment issues.
New Starter Support
· Welcome and support new starters and agency workers.
· Ensure new staff understand site procedures, welfare facilities and reporting lines.
· Direct staff to induction or briefing sessions where required.
Technology & Administration
· Assist with resolving technology issues relating to staff check-in, clocking systems or communication devices.
· Escalate technical issues promptly to the appropriate support team.
· Maintain accurate staffing records and complete post-event administration.
Communication
· Liaise with operational managers, supervisors and agency representatives.
· Promote a positive, professional and customer-focused working environment.
Essential Skills
- GCSE Grade C or above in English (or the equivalent qualification)
- Proficient user of MS Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Strong administration experience with an eye for detail
- Familiar with IT, systems/databases
- Experience in a customer facing role
- Effective communication
- Able to work evenings and weekends for match days
The interview will be a in person interview, and an administration test.
Health and Safety
· Responsible for ensuring all health and safety procedures are followed at all times, with relevant paperwork to support
· Report all incidents and accidents as required
· To report any hazards detected
Rate of pay: £13.85 per hour
Hours: Bristol City and Bristol Bears home match days, evenings and weekends, 4 - 8 hours dependant on game - please refer to the City and Bears fixture lists online
