Hotel General Assistant (Full-Time)

Sudbury House Hotel is a busy country house hotel hosting weddings, conferences, private events, and leisure stays. We are looking for a friendly and reliable Hotel General Assistant to join our team.
This is a varied and hands-on role supporting different departments throughout the hotel, including Reception, Food & Beverage, and Housekeeping. The successful candidate will enjoy working as part of a team and delivering excellent guest service across all areas of the hotel.
Key Responsibilities
- Providing excellent customer service to hotel guests
- Supporting Food & Beverage service across the restaurant, bar, events, and functions
- Assisting with the setup and support of weddings, conferences, and private events
- Supporting Reception with guest check-ins, check-outs, calls, and enquiries
- Assisting with reservations and general guest communications
- Supporting Housekeeping duties as required
- Maintaining high standards of presentation and cleanliness
- Working closely with other hotel departments to ensure smooth guest experiences
Requirements
- Previous hotel or hospitality experience (essential)
- Friendly, professional, and well-presented
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Flexible and reliable with a positive attitude
- Able to work well under pressure in a busy environment
- Willingness to learn and develop across different departments
- Must be fully flexible and available to work a variety of shifts, including evenings, weekends, and bank holidays, in line with hotel business needs
