The ideal candidate will be responsible for fabricating, assembling, and installing various wooden and other material structures on-site in customers homes. This role offers an excellent opportunity for those with a passion for craftsmanship and construction, providing a chance to work on diverse projects. Applicants should have a strong background in carpentry and joinery, with experience using hand tools and power tools.
Responsibilities
- Fabricate and assemble bespoke timber structures and components according to technical drawings and specifications
- Install joinery elements such as doors, windows, cabinets, and other fixtures on-site
- Use hand tools (saws, chisels, hammers) and power tools (drills, saws, sanders) safely and efficiently
- Perform roofing tasks including truss installation and weatherproofing measures
- Conduct heavy lifting of materials such as timber, bricks, or masonry components to facilitate construction activities
- Assist with other construction tasks and other trades as required - hands on role
- Ensure all work complies with health and safety regulations and maintains high standards of quality
- Collaborate with team members to meet project deadlines while maintaining safety standards
Experience
- Proven experience in carpentry or joinery within the construction industry
- Skilled in fabrication, assembly, and installation of wooden structures using both hand tools and power tools
- Knowledge of roofing techniques, masonry work, plumbing systems, electrical experience is advantageous
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently during demanding physical tasks
- Experience working on diverse projects such as residential or commercial buildings is preferred
- Familiarity with construction painting or finishing techniques is a plus
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to read technical drawings and plans accurately
Pay: £25.00-£28.00 per hour
Licence/Certification:
- Driving Licence and own vehicle (required)
