The Role
We are currently seeking an experienced Plater/Welder to join our skilled workshop team. The successful candidate will be responsible for fabricating and welding structural steel components in line with technical drawings and specifications.
Key Responsibilities
- Interpret and work from engineering drawings
- Plate, fabricate, and assemble steelwork components
- Carry out welding to a high standard
- Ensure all work meets quality and safety standards
- Maintain a clean and organised working environment
- Work collaboratively with team members to meet production deadlines
Requirements
- Proven experience as a plater and/or welder in a fabrication environment
- Ability to read and understand technical drawings
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Good timekeeping and reliability
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Desirable (but not essential)
- NVQ Level 2/3 in Fabrication & Welding or equivalent
- Experience working with structural steel
- Overhead crane or forklift experience
