Overview
We are seeking an energetic and responsible School Minibus Driver to ensure safe and reliable transportation for our students. This vital role involves transporting pupils between home and school, maintaining the vehicle, and ensuring all journeys are conducted smoothly and safely. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, mechanical knowledge, and a passion for working with young learners.
Duties
- Safely operate the school minibus on scheduled routes, adhering to traffic laws and safety protocols.
- Conduct daily vehicle inspections to ensure roadworthiness and report any maintenance issues promptly.
- Maintain accurate logs of journeys, mileage, and vehicle condition.
- Communicate effectively with staff, parents, and students to coordinate pick-up and drop-off arrangements.
- Assist with basic vehicle maintenance tasks and ensure the vehicle remains clean and well-maintained.
- Follow all health and safety policies to protect passengers and pedestrians during transportation.
- Support the overall safety of pupils during boarding and disembarking procedures.
Qualifications
- Valid commercial driving license with appropriate categories for passenger transport.
- Proven experience as a delivery driver or school minibus driver preferred.
- Strong mechanical knowledge for routine vehicle checks and minor repairs.
- Excellent communication skills in English to liaise confidently with staff, parents, and pupils.
- Knowledge of local traffic regulations and safe driving practices.
- Ability to handle emergency situations calmly and efficiently.
- Prior experience working with children or in an educational environment is a plus.
