Job Overview
We are seeking a friendly and efficient Cashier to join our takeaway food store team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing excellent customer service, handling transactions accurately, taking phone orders online ordwers and walk in customer ordersand maintaining a welcoming environment for all shoppers. Responsibilities
- Greet customers warmly and assist them with their purchases
- Process transactions accurately using the point-of-sale system
- Handle cash, card, and mobile payments securely
- Maintain the cleanliness and organisation of the checkout area
- Upsell products and promote ongoing promotions to maximise sales opportunities
- Answer customer enquiries politely via phone or in person
- Manage stock levels at the checkout counter, including merchandising displays
- Assist in maintaining an organised shopping environment by restocking shelves as needed
- Ensure adherence to company policies regarding cash handling and customer service standards
Skills
- Excellent communication skills in English
- previous experience in a takeaway is essential as it is a busy takeaway
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage time effectively during busy periods
- Basic maths skills for accurate cash handling and transaction processing
- Good phone etiquette when interacting with customers over the phone or via other communication channels
- Ability to upsell products tactfully to enhance customer experience and sales performance
- Knowledge of merchandising principles to create appealing displays
- Multilingual or bilingual capabilities are desirable to serve a diverse customer base effectively
- Organised with strong attention to detail and the ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced environment
Pay: £12.71-£13.00 per hour
