Payroll Administrator
Our client is seeking a detail oriented and highly organised Payroll Administrator to join their Finance team. This is a key role responsible for ensuring the accurate and timely delivery of payroll services across the organisation, supporting both operational efficiency and compliance with current legislation.
The successful candidate will play a vital role in managing the end-to-end payroll process, maintaining employee records, and ensuring all statutory obligations are met. This position requires a high level of accuracy, discretion, and up-to-date knowledge of payroll regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
· Process monthly payroll, ensuring all employees are paid accurately and on time
· Maintain and manage the time and attendance system, ensuring records are complete and accurate
· Handle manual payroll calculations including starters, leavers, and pay adjustments
· Administer sick pay schemes, including SSP and company sick pay entitlements
· Manage pension contributions, reconciliations, and submissions to providers
· Complete year-end processes, including P60 and P11D production and distribution
· Ensure compliance with PAYE, NIC, and current payroll legislation
· Administer statutory payments including SMP, SAP, SPP, and SSP
· Stay updated on payroll legislation and implement necessary process changes
· Liaise with HMRC and support technical payroll queries
· Maintain strict confidentiality of employee payroll data in line with data protection standards
· Accurately input and maintain payroll data within systems and databases
· Produce payroll reports using Microsoft Office for auditing and internal reporting
· Provide general payroll and administrative support to the wider Finance team
About You:
· Proven experience in a payroll or finance administration role
· Strong knowledge of UK payroll legislation, including PAYE and NIC
· High level of accuracy and attention to detail
· Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism and discretion
· Strong organisational and time management skills
· Confident using payroll systems and Microsoft Office applications
