Experienced AXYZ CNC flatbed Router Operator – Sign Manufacturing

We are looking for an experienced AXYZ CNC Router Operator to join our busy sign-manufacturing team in Blaydon, Gateshead.
This is a hands-on workshop role producing high-quality signage components and display items. You will be responsible for setting up and operating an AXYZ CNC router, working with materials including acrylic, aluminium composite, PVC, timber and other sheet materials.
Key responsibilities
- Set up, programme and operate an AXYZ CNC router
- Read and work from technical drawings, production files and job specifications
- Machine, cut and finish a range of sign-making materials
- Carry out quality checks to ensure work meets required standards
- Complete routine machine checks and basic maintenance
- Keep the workshop and machinery clean, safe and organised
- Work efficiently to production deadlines
- Support the wider production team when required
Essential requirements
- Previous hands-on experience setting up and operating an AXYZ CNC router
- CNC router experience within a manufacturing environment
- Experience working with acrylic, aluminium composite, PVC, timber or similar sheet materials
- Ability to read technical drawings and job specifications
- Strong attention to detail and pride in producing accurate, high-quality work
- Good understanding of workshop health and safety
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Reliable, organised and able to manage workload to deadlines
Desirable experience
- Previous experience in sign manufacturing, fabrication, joinery or a similar industry
- CAD/CAM software experience
- Experience with other sign-making equipment or finishing processes
